Even though drawing is something I’ve done since I was little, I don’t agree with people who say that drawing is a talent you're born with. To begin with, I’ve been drawing since I was nine years old, so it’s something that has required practice and effort. To be honest, I have no idea how it’s done — I mean it. When a drawing turns out well enough (according to my standards), it’s usually because at some point during the process my mind disconnects from reality and focuses solely on the drawing in front of me. This doesn’t happen very often.
Something very valuable I’ve learned from drawing is that all drawings look bad at the beginning, so it’s very important to trust the process.
